CachyOS ☛ CachyOS August 2026 Release
The CLI installer had a bunch of fixes and refactoring, with added experimental support for the upcoming Server Edition installation profiles.
The installer received several desktop-specific changes. Hyprland now uses noctalia-greeter instead of SDDM, switched lightdm greeter to lightdm-slick-greeter for Cinnamon, added gvfs-dnssd to GNOME, also cosmic-monitor got added to Cosmic.

CachyOS is one of the most popular Linux distributions and they've released their August release with lots of bug fixes and a few new features.
Based on Arch Linux, it's a rolling distribution so if you're already on it you just run updates as normal, but for new users it brings an updated ISO to burn to a USB and installer improvements - like improved handheld detection which should make the experience of using CachyOS on various PC gaming handhelds a lot nicer.
