Coming about a month after GStreamer 1.28.6, the GStreamer 1.28.7 release is here to add support for building against OpenCV 5, add a missing API version suffix in the HIP support library filename, restore gap event sending in the MPEG-PS demuxer, and limit the number of remote sources being tracked in the rtprecv element.

OpenVPN 2.7.7 is here to reduce the number of future keys from 16 to 4 when using EPOCH data channel format, leading to less log spam in userland and fewer resources used in in-kernel implementations. According to the devs, the previous calculation was wrong, and 4 spare keys are sufficient for 100+ Gbit/s links.

GNOME Disks Has Finally Been Ported to GTK4 and LibAdwaita – First Look

It took a few years, but GNOME Disks has been rebuilt from the ground up on GTK4 and LibAdwaita, moving away from the old GTK3/libhandy stack that was used until version 46. As one can expect, the GTK4/LibAdwaita port brings Disks in line with the rest of the standard GNOME apps, offering a modern user experience in 2026.

The main window, drive view, block rows, and all the core dialogs were all ported to GTK4/LibAdwaita. In addition, the disk image mounter and several libgdu utilities (including the restore-disk-image dialog) have been rewritten in Rust. The new Rust-based UI code talks to UDisks2 through udisks-rs, the Rust client package for udisks2.
