2026 Is Not the Year of the GNU/Linux Desktop (or Laptop)
2026 is many years after GNU/Linux became a potent platform on which to do work (or play). Some would say decades, not years.
What changed isn't the readiness of GNU/Linux for the world but the world's readiness for Free software, more so now that the price of components/new computers is very high, people don't have "far too much money" to spare/waste, and new computers pack many undesirable restrictions and push ads, slop etc. █
