The Net's Sleeping Giant: Gemini Protocol
Gemini Protocol turns 7 next year. It's not new. 7 years is a long time.
Our adoption of Gemini Protocol was partly motivated by the fact that almost all our output is textual, with images being trivially replaced by a verbal description of what they depict (we do this for users of screen readers - typically blind people - on the Web).
Our adoption of Gemini Protocol is paying off. Moreover, the number of users of Gemini Protocol (with a Gemini browser/client) is increasing. There will soon be 5,000 known (to Lupa) capsules.
Gemini Protocol isn't going away until every single capsule also goes away. At the moment, Geminispace grows rather than shrinks over time. It is decentralised. █
