Audacity 3.7.6 Audio Editor Adds FFmpeg 8 Support, Spectrogram Wavelet Analysis
Coming four months after Audacity 3.7.5, the Audacity 3.7.6 release introduces support for the latest and greatest FFmpeg 8.0 open-source multimedia framework, Spectrogram Wavelet analysis, and an “Import from audio.com” dialog to import audio files from audio.com.
Audacity 3.7.6 also introduces support for using middle-mouse drag panning over the track panel and support for exporting audio files as OGG/Opus when exporting with FFmpeg. In addition, it improves 16-bit FLAC import and cloud audio uploads.

Audacity, a free, cross-platform open-source audio editing and recording software used by hobbyists, podcasters, musicians, and professionals alike, just released version 3.7.6.
One of the most notable additions is support for FFmpeg 8, ensuring compatibility with the latest version of the multimedia framework. Users also gain access to a new Spectrogram Wavelet analysis mode, contributed by Klaus Gram-Hansen, offering more detailed and flexible time–frequency inspection for advanced audio work.

Audacity, the free open-source audio editor and recording application, released new 3.7.6 version few days ago. PPA updated for all current standard Ubuntu releases.
The new release of this cross-platform (Windows, Linux, and macOS) computer software added the FFmpeg 8.0 multimedia library support.
With the most recent FFmpeg library, it supports loading more audio codecs, such as Sanyo LD‑ADPCM, G.728 (.g728), and ADPCM IMA Xbox. And, custom FFmpeg export options now supports exporting to OGG/Opus audio formats using the libopus codec.
