KaOS Linux 2025.11 Adds Support for the Limine Bootloader, KDE Plasma 6.5
Coming two months after KaOS Linux 2025.09, the KaOS Linux 2025.11 release is powered by the latest and greatest Linux 6.17 kernel series and ships with the latest KDE Plasma 6.5.3 desktop environment, which is accompanied by the latest KDE Gear 25.08.3 and KDE Frameworks 6.20 software suites, all built on Qt 6.10.1.
KaOS Linux 2025.11 also ships with new apps, including Niri, a scrollable-tiling Wayland compositor, Quickshell, a Flexible toolkit for making desktop shells with QtQuick for Wayland, and Noctalia Shell, a minimal desktop shell for Wayland that actually gets out of your way.

KaOS 2025.11 Ships Plasma 6.5.3, Linux Kernel 6.17
KaOS, a rolling KDE-centric Linux distribution that uses the Pacman package manager and bets on the XFS file system, has released its November 2025 installation image, marking the first step toward adopting the Limine bootloader, now offered as an optional choice for UEFI installations via Calamares.
The release ships Plasma 6.5.3, KDE Gear 25.08.3, and Frameworks 6.20, all built on Qt 6.10.1. Plasma 6.5 adds automatic light–dark theme switching, pinned clipboard items for frequently reused text, an updated Wi-Fi and networking module showing nearby wireless networks, and improved KRunner fuzzy search.
