Fedora Linux 43 Beta Now Available for Testing » Linux Magazine
That's right, my friends, the beta of the latest iteration of your favorite RPM-based distribution is now available for testing. The final release before the stable release is made available this fall, Fedora Linux 43 Beta has plenty of improvements and additions.
First off, Fedora 43 Beta ships with kernel 6.17 and features the Anaconda WebUI installer to be used with more of the Fedora spins. This was done to create a more consistent installation process across the Fedora ecosystem. Along with that, the Anaconda installer now defaults to DNF5 to provide better support and debugging for package-based applications within the installer.
Fedora 43 will now fall back to the default monospace font (should a specified font wind up missing).
As well, the GNU toolchain has been updated for security fixes in upstream gcc, glibc, binutils, and gdp to guarantee a working compiler, assembler, static and dynamic linker, core language runtimes, and debugger.
And, of course, there's Gnome 49 and KDE Plasma 6.4, so you're getting the latest, greatest desktop experience possible.

HowTo Geek ☛ You Can Now Try the Fedora 43 Beta
The Fedora Linux team announced today the release of the beta testing version of Fedora 43. This update to the community fork of Red Hat Enterprise Linux brings several changes, which you can test out by installing the beta image.
Aofie Moloney, Fedora Operations Architect, wrote in Fedora Magazine that the beta had arrived "with the latest version upgrades of existing features, plus a few new ones too." The most notable version upgrade Moloney is referencing is probably the upgrade of its flagship "Workstation" desktop environment to GNOME 49. That GNOME beta itself is supposed to end this week with a full release.

You can now test drive Fedora 43 and Ubuntu 25.10
Two of the biggest names in fixed-release distros are nearly finished and ready to drop. You can taste them now, but they're not fully baked yet.
This cycle, Fedora 43 started plumping a little before Ubuntu. The project just released the beta version and it has an uncharacteristically short list of new features. There is a full changeset document that lists all the updated components, but at the time of writing, systemd is notably absent.
All editions of Fedora 43 use the new browser-based installer, called Anaconda WebUI. As it happens, this parallels the Agama installer in the openSUSE Leap 16 RC that we looked at last month.
When we wrote about this six months ago looking at the beta of Fedora 42, the new installer was only used in the GNOME Workstation edition. Now it's in all the "spins" with their different desktops and the other editions.

Fedora 43 Release Date and New Features
In a world of Debian and Ubuntu-based Linux distributions, Fedora has managed to carve out a space for itself with its commitment to delivering the latest open source technologies and serving as a testing ground for newly developed features.
The project maintains several variants to cater to different use cases and preferences. Fedora Workstation provides a polished desktop experience with GNOME, while Fedora KDE offers the Plasma desktop environment.
For server deployments, there's Fedora Server, and for IoT applications, Fedora IoT. Additionally, immutable variants like Fedora Silverblue and Fedora Kinoite provide atomic updates and enhanced reliability for desktop users.
With the next Fedora release on the horizon, let’s explore the exciting new features it brings.
