Fedora 43 Beta Is Almost Here, and the Wallpaper Just Dropped
Fedora Linux developers just announced that the Fedora 43 beta is confirmed to be coming next week. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, is when we can expect to see it available for download. Fedora releases always come with a new default wallpaper, and the one for this week also just got finalized.
Aoife Moloney, Fedora Operations Architect, posted to the Fedora development mailing list on Thursday that "Fedora Linux 43 Beta RC-1.3 is GO", indicating the all-clear for a public beta release this coming Tuesday. This was in fact the planned release date for the beta. I've seen Fedora miss release targets in the past, so it's encouraging to see things on track for 43.
On the same day, illustrator and Red Hat UX designer Madeline Peck wrote a post on the Fedora community blog announcing the finalized version of the official Fedora 43 wallpaper. It's an illustration of a rocket launching with an attached space shuttle, drawn with children's book-like tones and textures. There's both a "day" and "night" version, and both show a nighttime launch, but the rocket blast is dimmed in the night version.
