Valve has completed the Steam Hardware and Software Survey for August 2025, and the results are a mix of expected and disappointing — the latter especially for Linux users hoping to grow the user base in order to gain more developer support.
Despite the seeming increasing popularity of Linux in the PC gaming space, with Linux distributions like CachyOS and Bazzite offering much of the polish of Windows with the promised performance and customisation gains of Linux and SteamOS, it seems as though 2025 may not be the illusive year of the Linux desktop.

Mewgenics looks to be very interesting from the creators of The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy and The End is Nigh. Just recently, they put up a 50 minute gameplay video giving us the best look yet at the upcoming game. And, it also has a release date now so it will be out February 10th, 2026.
