Tails 7.0 Now Available for Testing, Based on Debian 13 “Trixie” and GNOME 48
Based on the soon-to-be-released Debian GNU/Linux 13 “Trixie” operating system series and powered by the long-term supported Linux 6.12 LTS kernel series, Tails 7.0 will be shipping with the latest GNOME 48 desktop environment by default, featuring the GNOME Console and GNOME Loupe apps.
Among some other noteworthy changes, the Tails 7.0 release will remove the obsolete Network Connection option from the Welcome Screen, will remove the Kleopatra app from the Favorites menu, and will also remove some packages from the live ISO image, including unar, aircrack-ng, and sq.
