Coming a month after Budgie 10.10.3, the Budgie 10.10.4 release overhauls panel automatic hiding and dock mode as hidden panels now stay above windows and reappear when you move the mouse to the screen edge, panels set to hide no longer reserve screen space, and a new Super+T shortcut shows the panel in full-screen apps.
Coming seven months after Trinity Desktop Environment R14.1.6, the Trinity Desktop Environment R14.1.7 release introduces support for recent GNU/Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu 26.10, while dropping support for older, unsupported Linux distros, including Ubuntu 24.10, Fedora 42, Mageia 9, and openSUSE Leap 15.6.

Linux kernel 7.2 was released on August 16th, 2026, introducing new features like cache-aware load-balancing support, initial HDMI 2.1 FRL support to the AMDGPU driver, support for devres-based management of ACPI notify handlers, initial CRI platform support for the Intel Xe driver, and Rust support for the IBM System/390 (S/390) architecture.
Coming more than two months after PorteuX 2.8, the PorteuX 2.9 release is powered by the latest and greatest Linux 7.3 kernel series and features the latest KDE Plasma 6.8.2, GNOME 51.1, COSMIC 1.11, Xfce 4.20, LXQt 2.4, Cinnamon 6.6.9, MATE 1.28.2, and LXDE 0.11.1 desktop environments as standalone flavors.
Meet Kwi (pronounced “kwee”), a new GPU-accelerated terminal emulator that follows the latest KDE HIG and UI conventions, built on the libghostty-vt library from the Ghostty project, Kirigami, and KDE Frameworks. Compared to Konsole, KDE’s venerable terminal emulator, Kwi promises up to 35x faster performance that should reduce battery usage.
Coming two months after OpenShot 4.0, the OpenShot 4.1 release revamps the text workflow by creating text clips immediately at the playhead, adding support for editing text directly in the preview window with no external editor required, a floating style bar for the font, size, color, and alignment, and exposing typography options in the Properties dock.
Meet Superlight, a new system monitor app for Linux Mint that features graphs for CPU, RAM, swap, GPU, network, disk I/O, temperature, and fan speed. The app shows how much of the system’s resources each application uses, and the same data is available for all running processes, with a large variety of columns you can sort and reorder.
Coming seven and a half months after Enlightenment 0.27, the Enlightenment 0.28 release introduces a new NetworkManager module that supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth networking, and VPNs, with network signal strength, security indicators, connection details, tooltips, and saved connection management.
Still based on the Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) operating system series and featuring the Xfce 4.20 desktop environment, Linux Lite 8.2 is powered by the latest and greatest Linux kernel 7.3, a major update compared to the Linux 7.0 kernel shipped in Linux Lite 8.0, for better hardware support.
Agilex 2X is Altera’s latest FPGA and SoC portfolio, consisting of four device families for applications ranging from industrial control to high-performance computing. The first announced family, Agilex 27, incorporates 256Gbps transceivers, PCIe 7.0 support, and a distributed HyperFlow data network. The company has also released QuartusIQ, an AI-assisted development tool integrated into Quartus Prime Pro 26.3.
The Nano Pro Gen15 is a compact Linux mini PC powered by Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H processor with integrated Arc B390 graphics. Developed by TUXEDO Computers, the system supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory, dual NVMe SSDs, four 4K displays, and dual 2.5GbE connectivity. It can be used for software development, local AI workloads, and home server applications.
