GNU/Linux in Iceland: From 1% to 6% in Less Than a Decade
As per this month's data from statCounter (available as ODF with chart):
THE dataset from Iceland can't be very large (relatively small population), but the trends seem consistent across months and years. As time goers by fewer people there use Windows. More adopt Chromebooks or GNU/Linux that's not controlled by Google. The growth is rapid.
What does all this mean for Microsoft, whose Windows revenues continue falling sharply every quarter? Will Microsoft sign some "agreement" for "AI" with Iceland's government like it recently did in Germany and in the UK? Is Iceland up for sale just for the EPO or also Microsoft? █
