TUXEDO Computers Releases Live ISO of Its Ubuntu-Based TUXEDO OS Linux Distro
Previously only available pre-installed on the company’s Linux-powered notebooks, TUXEDO OS is now also available for download as an ISO image, just like 99.9% percent of the GNU/Linux distributions on the market.
It took TUXEDO Computers about half a year of work to develop, test, design, and create documentation for the release of the first ISO image of TUXEDO OS, which is a derivative of the Ubuntu operating system featuring the modern and fancy KDE Plasma desktop environment.

TUXEDO Computers releases TUXEDO OS - Linux Magazine
The Linux hardware vendor, TUXEDO Computers has announced the official release of its Ubunutu-based TUXEDO OS to the general public.
TUXEDO Computers is well-known for selling Linux-powered laptops that ship with their own, Ubuntu-based, in-house operating system, known as TUXEDO OS. However, recently the company made that operating system available to the general public, which can be downloaded and installed on just about any computer.
Although TUXEDO OS was designed specifically for TUXEDO hardware, it does work on general hardware and even as a virtual machine. The OS uses a customized version of KDE Plasma and allows for running in live mode, dual booting, or a standard installation.
The installation of TUXEDO OS is fairly standard, however, when you install it on non-TUXEDO hardware, you will get a warning that states software like Tomte or the TUXEDO Control Center will not work.

Hello, Tuxedo: German Linux PC vendor in-house OS now public • The Register
Tuxedo OS 1 is Ubuntu 22.04, tweaked for the company's own kit, with KDE instead of GNOME, a natively packaged Firefox, and Flatpak instead of Snap.
As we mentioned when we covered the launch of Tuxedo's Pulse G2 laptop, the company has its own in-house rebuild of Ubuntu, as well as as a deployment tool called WebFAI. Now, it is releasing that custom distro to the general public, as Tuxedo OS 1.
German Linux PC vendor Tuxedo Computers may not be a household name – and we suspect System76 gets most of the limelight in the US – but where the Reg FOSS desk is located in Central Europe, its name pops up regularly, as a sponsor of openSUSE as well as various conferences and events.
In releasing its OS for general use on other companies' hardware, Tuxedo Computers is following in the footsteps of US vendor System76, which developed its own, customized version of Ubuntu and subsequently launched it as an independent distro, Pop!_OS.
The Reg FOSS desk was distinctly underwhelmed by Pop!_OS 21.10, which rendered our test laptop unbootable. Saying that, the following version, based on Ubuntu's latest LTS, was a much smoother ride.

You Can Now Install TUXEDO OS on a Regular Computer: Here’s How
TUXEDO OS is an operating system developed specifically for hardware sold by TUXEDO. But now, you can install it on any non-TUXEDO device as well.
There's a growing trend for Linux-focused PC vendors to develop their own distro to showcase the best points of their shiny new hardware. Until recently, TUXEDO OS was available only as a pre-installed option on machines from TUXEDO Computers, now anyone can download and install it on their computer.
