No Power = No 1s and 0s. Internet Resilience Requires Electrical Resilience

Last week, Cuba lost all Internet connectivity when Hurricane Rafael struck the nation and caused a failure in its power infrastructure. This was only a few weeks after the shutdown of a major power generation plant caused a nationwide power outage and a loss of all Internet connectivity. In late October, the Caribbean island of Guadalupe dropped off the Internet as striking workers took over and shut down the island’s main power plant.

As usual, issues are expected and in particular in this release which got important updates in major areas, such as canvas interaction code, scripts, but also theming…

GIMP 2.99.12 Released with Huge Updates, But No Date of v3.0 Yet

The free and open source drawing program brings the latest point release (development) in the 2.99 series with a list of new features and updates. GIMP’s point releases are not minor ones. They often bring several new features and improvements.

Although, in the official release announcement, the team did not say specifically when the much-anticipated GIMP 3.0.0 will be released. As it is a community project and a complex one, we can guess it will be released when ready.
