EasyOS: Linux 6.12.63, SeaMonkey 2.53.23, and Fixes EasySetup

Barry Kauler ☛ Kernel 6.12.63 compiled without aufs patch
The title says it all. Although EasyOS no longer uses aufs, I wondered if the patch itself might cause trouble.
This line of thinking came about because I have observed a pause at bootup of about 20 seconds on my Zenbook laptop sometimes, just after displaying the read speed test and asking for the password. It hardly ever happens, but then surprise, suddenly it does happen. Given the freezing errors at bootup when Easy was using aufs, that completely went away when changed to overlayfs, I wondered if the aufs patch itself might still be causing an issue.

Barry Kauler ☛ SeaMonkey 2.53.23 compiled
There is an issue with SM 2.53.22 in Easy 7.1.1; the browser crashes when running as root and the pulseaudio pavucontrol mixer app is running. I think it was forum member vtpup who reported this, and I confirmed.

Barry Kauler ☛ Fixed again screen brightness in EasySetup
This was fixed a little while ago:
https://bkhome.org/news/202512/fix-screen-brightness-in-easysetup.html
However, don570 reported that it is still broken in Easy 7.1.1:
https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=162583#p162583
Hmmm, it has managed to get unfixed. OK, /usr/local/easysetup/sub-menu reads the .desktop files in /usr/share/applications, but filters out any that have "NoDisplay=true"
