KDE Plasma 6.5.3 Improves Visual Smoothness on Multi-Monitor VRR Setups
Coming two weeks after KDE Plasma 6.5.2, the KDE Plasma 6.5.3 update improves visual smoothness while switching modes on multi-monitor setups with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)-capable screens and support for the MHC2 tag in ICC profiles to produce identical color effects when importing color profiles in Plasma.
KDE Plasma 6.5.3 also improves the KWin window and composite manager to be more robust against a graphics issue that could make the screen go black after the system displays the Plymouth boot splash screen and before showing the SDDM login screen.

KDE Plasma 6.5.3 Delivers Bug Fixes Across KWin, Discover, and Breeze
The KDE team has announced Plasma 6.5.3, the third bugfix update to the major Plasma 6.5 series, which follows two weeks after the previous 6.5.2 release. While no new features are introduced, Plasma 6.5.3 focuses on refinement and reliability.
Breeze, the default Plasma theme engine, receives corrections, including a palette reset fix and improved QQC2 menu styling. Breeze-GTK, which provides consistent theme integration for GTK applications, fixes missing GTK4 expander icons and corrects corner radii for both CSD and SSD windows.

Slimbook is one of several companies selling PCs with desktop Linux. The KDE Slimbook is one of its most popular laptops, and now a seventh-generation model has arrived with impressive hardware and pre-installed KDE Plasma.

The KDE Slimbook is a 16-inch ultraportable laptop, powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor with 10 cores and 20 threads. You also get integrated AMD Radeon 880M graphics, expandable memory up to 128GB, up to 8TB of storage, a backlit keyboard, and 100W charging over USB Type-C Power Delivery (USB-PD).
