Blender 5.0 Open-Source 3D Graphics App Is Now Available for Download
Highlights of Blender 5.0 include support for displaying HDR and wide gamut colors, which requires a HDR or wide gamut capable monitor. On Linux systems, this works only when using Wayland and setting the Vulkan backend in Blender’s system preferences.
Blender 5.0 also introduces a working color space for Blend files, a new AgX HDR view, a new Convert to Display compositor node, new Rec.2100-PQ and Rec.2100-HLG displays that can be used for color grading for HDR video export, and new ACES 1.3 and 2.0 views as an alternative to AgX and Filmic.

Blender 5.0 Released with a UI Overhaul, Smarter Nodes, and HDR Support
The Blender Foundation has released Blender 5.0, a major update for this popular open-source 3D creation suite that touches nearly every aspect of the app, from minor details to foundational shifts.
On the user interface side, when you open Blender 5.0 for the first time, the interface feels different. The developers have unified the theme system, removing more than 300 options, which is one of the biggest structural changes in years, to make custom theme creation and maintenance more manageable. However, some existing custom themes built for Blender 4.5 may break as a result.

Blender 5.0 Released with HDR Color Space, Much Faster Material Compilation | UbuntuHandbook
Blender, the popular 3D computer graphics software, released new major 5.0 version yesterday.
The new 5.0 release overhauled the color management pipeline with native wide-gamut and HDR color spaces support.
It can now display and export HDR and wide-gamut colors for both images and video. And, it added new ACES 1.3 and 2.0 views as alternative to AgX and Filmic, AgX HDR view, and Rec.2100-PQ and Rec.2100-HLG displays.
It’s now possible to use a wider gamut of colors for materials, lights and compositing, and to follow common ACES workflows, set a custom Working Space per file and Sequencer, and use the Convert Colorspace node in the Compositor.
