Why TuxMachines Won't Link to The Times Group Publications (Like The Times of India) Anymore
This time a death by LLM slop/plagiarism
The Economic Times (Indian newspaper) has been trashed by LLM slop. Quoting Wikipedia: "Owned by The Times Group, The Economic Times began publication in 1961 and it is sold in all major cities in India."
According to this outline, this network includes the following publications: The Times of India, The Economic Times, Navbharat Times, Maharashtra Times, Ei Samay, Mumbai Mirror, Vijaya Karnataka, Bangalore Mirror, Pune Mirror, and Bombay Times.
We must now assume all are LLM slop suspects. They didn't place restrictions on fake authorship, possibly even plagiarism by bots (depending on local laws).
We've therefore adapted a bit and marked domains accordingly. "The Times of India has been dropped from coverage due to slop contamination," an associate said. For us, except in unusual circumstances, the above are publications to no longer read and cite. They are basically akin to defunct sites, domains to be avoided. █
