Audacity 3.7.2 Improves the Linux AppImage Bundle for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Audacity 3.7.2 improves the AppImage bundle for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) systems fix an issue with the loading of the FFmpeg multimedia server, adds a new option to turn off automatic tempo detection, a new “get effects” button next to the ‘Upload Audio’ button, and introduces UUID instance support.
This release also adds independent real-time effect instances to duplicated tracks, adds the ability to open the effect settings immediately after adding a real-time effect to a track, improves the stability of cloud saving, and adds a warning message when users try to save a project created in an older version of Audacity.

Audacity 3.7.2 Patch Release Fixes Crashes and Enhances Stability
The popular open-source audio editing software Audacity has just released version 3.7.2, offering a series of fixes and quality-of-life improvements. To start, issues that caused crashes when applying effects across multiple tracks—especially if one track happened to be empty—have finally been resolved.
Likewise, the pesky glitches emanating from the Mixer window should no longer hinder a smooth editing session. Moreover, for those who missed the “Residue” option in noise reduction, it has now been restored.

Audacity 3.7.2 Added UUID to Track Active Users & Retention Rates
Audacity audio editor released new 3.7.2 version today. PPA updated for Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 24.10, and GNU/Linux Mint 21/22. The new Audacity 3.7.2 is a maintenance release contains primarily bug-fixes. There’s however a new UUID system that automatically generates random numbers for each copy of the app.

Open source audio editor Audacity has issue a new patch release with a sizeable set of bug fixes, including an appreciable one for Ubuntu users using the official Audacity AppImage. Audacity 3.7.2, the second point update in the currently Audacity 3.7 series which debuted in October of last year, fixes FFmpeg loading in its official AppImage when run on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (and GNU/Linux distributions based off of it). Which is welcome.
