Miguel Grinberg ☛ A Review of The Quick Python Book, Fourth Edition
Before I start I want to clarify that Manning shared a pre-release copy of this book with me and asked if I could give a recommendation to use in their promotion materials for the book. I'm not getting paid to write a review, aside from a coupon to get a free copy of the e-book once it is released. I do not make any income from traffic or sales I send to Manning from this page. While I know who Naomi (the author) is, I do not know her personally.
With that out of the way, here is my review of The Quick Python Book, Fourth Edition.

EDRI ☛ The 16th Hackers On Planet Earth conference - HOPE_16
The HOPE conferences are known for their creativity and diversity, not to mention a whole lot of hacker fun. We’ve been at this for over three decades now – the first HOPE conference was in 1994.
HOPE_16 is different, though. For the first time ever, HOPE has become an annual event. Our first three conferences were separated by three years and every conference after that was biennial, or once every two years. After doing this 15 times, we think we’re finally ready to become a yearly tradition.

Rlang ☛ Frame-by-Frame Modeling and Validation of NFL geospatial data using gganimate in R workshop
Description: This talk will explore the validation and visualization of spatio-temporal data in sports, focusing on the NFL tracking dataset and the application of frame-by-frame modeling. After a brief introduction to spatio-temporal data and its significance, we’ll highlight common errors in tracking datasets, such as missing data and implausible trajectories, emphasizing the importance of validation. The session will delve into the capabilities of gganimate, showcasing how it transforms static plots into dynamic animations to validate data and enhance storytelling. We’ll provide an overview of the NFL tracking dataset, its structure, and key challenges like data noise and synchronization issues. Through step-by-step examples, participants will learn to build animations that visualize player movements, pass probabilities, and pass rush models, while using techniques to identify anomalies and combine multiple data sources.

Raspberry Pi ☛ Introducing: Raspberry Pi Official Magazine
As you may have seen, The MagPi magazine, including HackSpace, has been reborn under one official umbrella. We’ve always been the official Raspberry Pi magazine, and now that’s a bit more evident in our new name: Raspberry Pi Official Magazine. Or RPOM (ar-pom) for short.
