Luis Villa: freedoms-for-who, revisited briefly [Ed: Luis Villa says FSF is "sort-of-OSI", basically insulting the FSF by promoting "hey hi" nonsense and comparing it to a captured, hostile Microsoft front group]
In talking with someone about “preferred form for modification” over the weekend at FOSDEM, the FSF (now sort-of-OSI?) four freedoms came up. They’re not bad, but they’re extremely developer-focused in their “use case”. This is not a new observation, of course, but the changed technical and social context of Hey Hi (AI) seems to be bringing it to the fore that different users have different variations on the values and why open is so important to them.

DBHub.io Shutdown
DBHub.io will cease operating at the end of February The DBHub.io online platform hasn’t really gained any traction, so we’re shutting it down at the end of this month.
At that time all data (including user databases) will be deleted and the servers will be decommissioned.
Apologies for the short notice Ideally we’d provide several months of notice for people to arrange alternative hosting elsewhere.
However, the ongoing financial cost each month of operating the platform has to date been borne by Justin Clift personally, and his finances can no longer accommodate the expense.
