Tux Machines Will Hopefully Become Faster Soon
HISTORICALLY, Tux Machines was quite slow (as a Web site, technically, not in the editorial sense). Susan hosted it from home and it used Drupal, which can be heavy and induce high back-end loads, resulting in high latency. Tux Machines, as it's producing many pages per day, is the sort of site where full pages (with images) ought to take less than a second to open.
Inkscape has just turned 21 and Tux Machines turns 21 in 7 months. At the moment we're finishing the last batch of maintenance work (just over an hour left) and meanwhile things can seem a little slow. Over time things are meant to improve as latency goes down and cables around the datacentres gain capacity. Moving between gear (hardware) typically means some downtime. █
