Clementine Music Player Released 1.4.1 Stable after 8 Years of DEV
It’s been more than 8 years since the last 1.3.1 stable. Clementine, the old popular music player and library organizer, finally got a new stable release! Clementine is a free open-source music player inspired by Amarok 1.4.

Clementine Music Player Sees First Non-Preview Release in 8 Years
Remember Clementine music player? Well, it appears to be back – some 8 years after its last stable release. If Clementine feels like it’s slipped out of public consciousness it’s understandable: the last stable release was in 2016 (v1.3.1). Yet behind the scenes development continued and an awful lot of preview builds issued – indeed, the v1.4.0 release candidate has long been carried in the repositories of most major GNU/Linux distributions, including Ubuntu. But this weekend something changed.

Finding good music players on Linux is not that difficult. There are many great options, like Rhythmbox, VLC, Amberol, Audacious, cmus, and more that usually fit most people's use cases and preferences.
Even with the rise of music streaming services, offline-first apps like these are a great reminder of the past, when you could physically own media without the fear of losing access to it because a publisher went bankrupt.
