Wesley Moore ☛ Generate a JSON Feed for a Zola Website
JSON Feed is a specification for representing an RSS-style feed in JSON. I wanted to add one as an alternative alongside the Atom feed on a new website I’m building. The website is built with Zola, which unfortunately doesn’t support the format, so this is how I went about adding one.

Dan Q ☛ Transparency, Contribution, and the Future of WordPress
I don’t know whether Joost’s solution is optimal, but it’s certainly worth considering his ideas if we’re to come up with a new shape for WordPress. It’s good to see that people are thinking about the bigger picture here, than just wherever we find ourselves at the resolution of this disagreement between Matt/Automattic/the WordPress Foundation and WP Engine.

University of Toronto ☛ The impact of the September 2024 CUPS CVEs depends on your size
Based on what we know, the vulnerability requires the CUPS server to also be running 'cups-browsed'. One of the things that cups-browsed does is allow remote printers to register themselves on the CUPS server; you set up your new printer, point it at your local CUPS print server, and everyone can now use it. As part of this registration, the collection of CUPS issues allows a malicious 'printer' to set up server side data (a CUPS PPD) that contains thxings that will run commands on the print server when a print job is sent to this malicious 'printer'. In order to get anything to happen, an attacker needs to get someone to do this.

Akademy 2024 in Würzburg
Three weeks ago, I attended KDE Akademy 2024 in Würzburg, Germany. It was pretty exciting to meet my KDE friends after one year since last Akademy 2023!
Travel drama Ideally whole trip should’ve taken just ~18 hours door-to-door but thanks to Lufthansa whole travel turned out to be of 48 hours in total including layovers. Flight cancellation and rebooking caused by travel to start way earlier than planned (Thursday 5:00 AM instead of planned 07:00 PM) and had to spend insane amount of time in layover.
