System76 Previews New Beefed-up Pangolin Due in February
One thing about the folks at System76 is that they have so many lines of laptops, that when they put one on hiatus for a while for a redesign you hardly notice.
One that’s been gone for a while is Pangolin, which previously sat midpoint in the company’s roster of six lines of laptops. The company announced on Thursday that Pangolin is on its way back, with beefed-up electronics and packaging that should put it closer to System76’s top-of-the line than its middle tier.

System76 teases beefy Pangolin Linux laptop update with Ryzen 7 6800U - NotebookCheck.net News
System76 is known for its high-quality laptops that run Linux (either Ubuntu or System76's own Pop!_OS). However, most of their laptops run on Intel CPUs, so AMD fans were left in the lurch... until the original Pangolin debuted a few years ago. System76 recently teased the upcoming version of the Pangolin, replete with the latest and greatest from AMD.
The new Pangolin will come with AMD's Ryzen 7 6800U CPU, Radeon 680M integrated graphics (built on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture), and up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM (6400 MHz). The laptop will have slots for two M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs (up to 16 TB total).
Connectivity is covered by three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) ports, a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) port, and an SD card reader. USB 4 is noticeably absent. An HDMI 2.0 port and 3.5 mm combo audio jack round out connections.
The Pangolin has most of the conveniences of other modern laptops, including a backlit chiclet-style keyboard, a multitouch trackpad, and a Kensington lock. The webcam falls flat at only 1 MP (720p), but there is a hardware kill switch to turn off the webcam.

System76 Beefs Up Popular Pangolin Laptop - Linux Magazine
The darling of open-source-powered laptops and desktops will soon drop a new AMD Ryzen 7-powered version of their popular Pangolin laptop.
System76 recently announced they would soon give their fan-favorite Pangolin laptop a boost with the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU 2.7 up to 4.7 GHz with 8 cores and 16 threads, which includes an AMD Radeon 680M GPU. With the Ryzen 7, users get increased CPU clock speeds, doubled read/write speeds, and faster bandwidth at the tune of 40% faster.
The Pangolin chassis is built with magnesium and offers 150 degrees of flexibility for the screen. The display has a 1920x1080 FDH matte with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Tucked inside the chassis is a battery with 10% more life than previous iterations, so you can expect to get roughly 10 hours of productivity from the new configuration.

System76's Pangolin Laptop Will Have Linux and AMD Zen 3+
System76 is one of the most popular Linux PC makers, and also serves as the developer of the Pop!_OS Linux distribution. Now the company is testing a new AMD-powered Linux laptop, the Pangolin.
System76 has begun teasing a new model of the Pangolin laptop, and it’s packed to the brim with improvements and new features. The Pangolin laptop is powered by the new AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU, which uses the chipmaker’s Zen 3+ architecture — not quite the Zen 4 architecture you will soon be able to find on laptops, but it’s pretty good nonetheless.
