Linux Lite 6.2 Officially Released, Based on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
Featuring the lightweight Xfce 4.16 desktop environment and based on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish), Linux Lite 6.2 is here five months after Linux Lite 6.0, which was the first release of the Ubuntu-based distribution based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Highlights of this release include a revamped Lite Upgrade in-house built utility that features a new end-user dialog and integration of the latest LibreOffice 7.4 office suite release, as well as an updated Lite Tweaks in-house built utility that improves kernel removal, log removal, and hostname setting.

Last week, the Linux community was abuzz with excitement over the release of Zorin OS 16.2. That operating system is notable for being designed for Windows switchers. Today, yet another such distribution that focuses on former Windows users is released -- Linux Lite 6.2.
Linux Lite 6.2 is is based on the excellent Ubuntu 22.04.1. The distribution uses Linux kernel 5.15.0-52 and Xfce 4.16 desktop environment. It comes with some excellent software pre-installed, such as Google Chrome 107, GIMP 2.10.30, Thunderbird 202.2.2, VLC 3.0.16, and LibreOffice 7.3.6.2.
Speaking about this new version of the operating system, the development team explains, "Linux Lite 6.2 Final is now available for download and installation. This release is mostly comprised of UI adjustments, up to date software and bug fixes. This release improves upon 6.0 with numerous UI enhancements, updates to many Linux Lite applications, the newest stable LibreOffice, Lite Upgrade has a new end dialogue, there's a new Video Editor in Lite Software and much more."

A new version of the Linux Lite, an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution aimed at lower-spec’d computers, is available to download.
Linux Lite 6.2 is based on the Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS point release and Linux kernel 5.15, plus a tweaked version of the Xfce 4.16 desktop environment and its associated assembly of apps. Modern machines can run Linux Lite but the distro is tailored towards those on older and/or resource-limited hardware.
“This release is mostly comprised of UI adjustments, up to date software and bug fixes,” Linux Lite creator Jerry Bezencon says in a release announcement posted on the Linux Lite forums.
Updated versions of bundled software, including the latest update in the LibreOffice 7.3 series and the most recent release of Google Chrome, come as standard.
